Everything seems to be growing now although the wet weather in May has meant it was difficult to get out and keep on top of the weeds! Parsnips, brussels, beetroot, carrot, radish, and spring onion are all going in now.

Tomato plants were the first to move into the greenhouse. We have grown 4 different varieties this year – Alicante, the gardeners go to, and the yellow cherry tomato Sungold. Also Garnet which is a dark bronze cherry tomato and San Marzano, a plum tomato which is great for making sauce.

The windows are in and have a coat of paint. Finally we can start moving all the plants from every windowsill in the house.

Now we have put fencing around the plot. Too many rabbits, birds and deer to risk it. We’re growing a range of all the favourites. Garlic, onions, broad beans and potatoes.
