Wow what a busy summer. We have extended our growing area and despite the lack of rain over the summer we have managed to get a reasonable crop especially squashes and courgettes. Some things suffered really badly in the heatwave and next year will have to look closely at how we can grow without resorting to irrigation. We have been increasing our veg box customers; started supplying The Tytherleigh Arms and veg shops in Axminster and Honiton.

So here it is. The first batch of unpastuerised Holly Farm honey. Thanks to Morgan Shore, our Beekeeper, for setting up the hives, dealing with the swarm and collecting the honey.
Had a wander round the pumpkin field this morning and found these whoppers!!

So it turns out we can grow Pradon peppers - loads of them!
We are really pleased with our greenhouse produce this year. We have 3 varieties of cherry tomatoes which look and taste great and some huge beefmaster tomatoes. We were not sure if we would be able to grow Padron peppers but they definitely like the hot weather we have had recently. Oh and the cucumbers are climbing over the roof!
Well these little beauties were a bit of a surprise. Hope they keep this amazing colour as they grow and ripen.

The tomatoes are looking good. They are beginning to show some fruit so it's looking promising for a good crop.

We are growing Padron peppers for the first time. Hoping that we get enough sunlight hours for the peppers to ripen.
The arrival of our three new Oxford sandy and Black pigs. Hope they like their new home!!

After much debate we have decided to extend our livestock this year. We are going to add to our little flock of hens and we are expecting 3 Oxford Sandy and Black pigs around Easter. We now have a pig ark and some useful advice from Porky Blinders and Plum Pudding Pigs.
The workshop is looking so much better now. We have used cedar cladding which has a natural durability without treatment. Martin and Joel have done a great job. It's good to get it finished. Just need to find some lights which will cast light downwards to light the entrance without causing light pollution.

Final stages of the workshop and greenhouse build. The cladding has arrived.
